You woke up this morning, and the first thing you thought of was what? Did you hit the snooze button and tell yourself you have more time? Did you jump up and hit the ground running because you were already behind schedule? Did you hear the birds chirping and decide you’d like to pour yourself come coffee and sit in your favorite spot?
Unfortunately, the majority of people find themselves waking up to the thought of pleasing someone else. That person could be a spouse, a child, a significant other, a family member, ect; but how often is it our boss? You wake up in a rush to get ready and neglect your growling stomach. You say you’ll go to the gym after your shift, but know that when you’re done with work you will have too much going on to exercise. You consistently put your career, your family, your spouse, etc over your own needs.
Today we stop. In this moment, as you read this sentence, we prioritize ourselves. The people we love deserve the best ‘you’ to love in return. Challenge yourself to see past the hustle of everyday, and focus on what you need in this moment to create the best future.
In 2021, I took this challenge myself. Going to the gym, focusing on eating correctly, talking with a mentor, reading books, dove into what my beliefs are, and so on. Through this I learn so much more than just what healthy looks like. I started to see how my unhealthy decisions had created a world around me that I was not happy in. I was anxious, depressed, and very easily angered. Once I prioritized myself, everyone around me could see a difference. This is when I stopped going to work for someone else to provide for my family. (There is nothing wrong with having a job. In fact, today I still have a 9-5 as I pursue Real Estate) What I found was that “the boss” was following me home and yelling at the kids for having fun. He was impatient with his wife when she just needed to vent. “The boss” that I dedicated my life to was destroying it. You know exactly what I mean…
So, how do you find your way out of this situation? Where is the light at the end of the tunnel, and when you find it, how in the world are you supposed to just go after it? These are the questions I love to connect with people on. Let’s set down and figure out where you are and where you want to be. Then, and only after you’ve decided to trust yourself, you will start to see a great change in life. All my information is here. Book an appointment, and let’s grab that coffee!
